Conor McGregor demonstrated he's ready for the spotlight in more ways than one at Thursday's UFC 329 media day, delivering an unexpected musical performance that had the crowd entertained.
The former champion, preparing for his first fight in five years, took center stage at the pre-fight presser to perform Oasis' "Wonderwall." The rendition came after McGregor fielded a question comparing his return to the British rock legends' 2025 reunion tour.
A Moment of Levity
"The boys are in town I believe," McGregor responded when asked about the Gallaghers. "I like the Oasis lads. It's good. I can't wait to see Oasis." The Gallagher brothers have previously attended UFC events, leaving open the possibility they could appear at UFC 329.
While McGregor's vocal talents may not earn him induction into any halls of fame, the moment showcased his comfort commanding a room beyond the octagon. His willingness to entertain the assembled media and fans underscored why he remains combat sports' biggest draw.
Pimblett Gets Called Out
McGregor wasn't content performing solo, however. He turned his attention to fellow fighter Paddy Pimblett, who remained seated during the performance. "Paddy, where was the back up?" McGregor quipped with a grin. "I needed back up there!"
The lighthearted ribbing highlighted the relaxed atmosphere surrounding McGregor's return, a stark contrast to the intensity he'll face inside the cage on Saturday. After a half-decade away from competition, the Irish fighter appears mentally sharp and in good spirits as he prepares to reclaim his place atop the sport.
The performance served as a reminder that McGregor's appeal transcends fighting—his charisma and showmanship have made him the biggest name in UFC history, capable of commanding attention whether armed with gloves or a microphone.
